Sad news on the passing of Ed Pedder

Date: 02-Oct-2019

It is with great sadness and regret we advise that Ed Pedder, a long-standing member of the IAAF CV Committee, passed away in hospital on the afternoon of Thursday the 12th September 2019. Ed had been taken seriously ill three weeks previously and everyone is deeply shocked by this news.

Ed will have been known to many people as he had worked in the aftermarket for over 30 years in a number of well known businesses. Most recently, Ed was the Business Development Manager for Carwood Motor Units, a position he had held since January 2014.

For all those who knew or had met Ed, he will remembered for his honesty, integrity and trust, as well as his wealth of knowledge about the aftermarket. Ed was not only a consummate professional, but also a lovely man, it was a pleasure to work with him, those at Carwood have all lost a dear friend and colleague, and he will also be greatly missed by his many friends in the automotive sector.  Many will recall him from his time at organisations such as Intertruck, Caterpillar Logistics, Unipart Automotive, Wabco and even earlier times at Bedford Trucks. Some may recall him from his roles as a key note speaker at conferences with his excellent presentation skills.

Ed's funeral is being held at the Rainsbrook Crematorium, Ashlawn Road, Rugby CV22 5QQ at 11am on 9th October.  If anyone would like to attend, could they please notify the IAAF Office so that we can advise the family of numbers.

All our thoughts and sympathies go out to his wife June, children and grandchildren at this most difficult time.
